Our Story

The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity was founded at the University of Virginia on March 1, 1868. At the time, the University of Virginia was the fifth largest school in the United States, and was considered the first truly American state university, because it was the first to be established totally free from religious control.
The Pi Kappa Alpha Expansion at West Chester University began in the Fall semester of 2013 where consultants Jordan King and Hank Walden assembled the Founding Class. Since the formal unveiling to the University our members have looked to make a positive impact on the Greek Community and the University. Members currently hold a 3.21 GPA, have served over 1,200 community service hours and raised $8,564.60 for charities benefiting the homeless, the First West Chester Fire Co. and local families. In the Spring semester the fraternity captured their first Greek Week Trophy in the first year on campus.
Our members enjoy the benefits of being active with other student organizations and over 90% of our members are involved in another student organizations. Members get to participate in taking part in leadership roles, intramural teams, brotherhood events, social events, philanthropy and fundraising events etc.
